Call to Action #100

There is evidence of active Canadian resources that support key portions of Call #100 and provide a practical foundation for further development toward the Call’s full intent. The Call’s purpose is to build a national database of verified Indigenous businesses that all levels of government and industry can use to procure goods and services. The strongest evidence comes from current federal procurement sources and Indigenous-led procurement and certification sources. These show that a public national directory exists, that ownership and control verification criteria are applied, that the directory is searchable by governments and private-sector purchasers, and that it is already connected to procurement eligibility and supplier identification.  For this reason, the activity is best classified as Active. Scaling, coordinating, transferring governance, and strengthening verification across existing Canadian databases could further advance Call #100. The main limitations concern coverage, governance, quality control, and measured uptake; they do not indicate an absence of responsive activity.
