Call #102 is focused on one main outcome: creating mechanisms to recognize Indigenous free trade zones. However, the Call also includes two important conditions: the zones must be defined by Indigenous Peoples and regulated by Indigenous Peoples. This makes the Call more than a general trade or export-development measure; it requires recognition of Indigenous authority over the design and governance of these zones.
