The status is Active. Responsive activity exists through implemented federal, regional, sectoral, and local coordination mechanisms that support Indigenous economic development using place-based or community-led approaches. The Strategic Partnerships Initiative helps federal departments coordinate support for Indigenous economic opportunities through a single-window and interdepartmental approach, while its highlights report recent investments supporting Indigenous participation in energy, mining, fisheries, forestry, and agriculture. The First Nation-Municipal Community Economic Development Initiative supports joint economic development planning between First Nations and adjacent municipalities.³ The Indigenous Community Development National Strategy supports community-driven, nation-based planning and cross-government collaboration. Regional Energy and Resource Tables and the Prairie Partnership Initiative show broader place-based economic planning with Indigenous partners, provinces, municipalities, industry, and federal departments. The evidence does not show one fully integrated national system across all governments, but current work is active and directly responsive to the Call.
